JarrBar was kind enough to let us set up our card embellishment station in their awesome space.

Embellishing Cards at Etsy Craft Party 2016 - Seattle Edition

We had a great time hosting our fourth annual Etsy Craft Party - Seattle Edition. It's always such an inspiring day of people coming together and making amazing things. For those of you who couldn't attend, we wanted to highlight some of the projects from our 2016 party in a series of blog posts.

Etsy Craft Party 2016 - Seattle Edition

Every year, the Etsy community comes together to create and connect. This is the fourth annual Etsy Craft Party - Seattle Edition - hosted by Ugly Baby and La Ru.

This year we have some great projects in store for you: string art, watercolor card embellishment, pom pom & tassle making, a coloring wall, photo booth, a table dedicated to kid crafts and - our party favorite - a city block filled with sidewalk chalk.

Each ticket comes with a gift bag filled with supplies for the projects and some other pretty sweet gifties.

We moved temporarily

We Moved TEMPORARILY

We moved. TEMPORARILY.

There is some construction happening on our building and our little shop is boxed in by scaffolding every which way. The Market was kind enough to let us move into a vacant space on First Avenue for a bit while the construction dust settles. Here's our little baby all cleared out and empty.

Cleared out and empty: The old Ugly Baby and La Ru space

Poor little shop. We'll see you soon.

Which way to the Bunny Party!?

Bunny Party! 2014: A Wrap Up

Every year, on the day before Easter Sunday, we throw Bunny Party! We collaborate with the Seattle Animal Shelter to bring in money for rabbits who are sure to be dropped off shortly after Easter when people realize that they just don't make a great gift after all. Volunteers from the Animal Shelter bring in bunnies who are looking for new forever or foster homes. People make a donation to pet a rabbit while the volunteers talk to them about what it actually takes to raise a rabbit. Education. Fun. Bunnies. Sidewalk chalk.

Sublime Stitching Patterns in Seattle, Washington

New Sublime Stitching Shipment: Tool Kits, Glow in the Dark Floss, NEW Laurel Canyon Floss - and more!

We received a big shipment of new Sublime Stitching patterns, tools and awesome-ness.

My favorite: glow-in-the-dark floss. I've used it before -- and it works like magic.

Dogs were petted. And petted some more. We hope you'll join us next year!

Summer Hours and New Employee!

To gear up for summer we have extended our hours! We are now open every day of the week (Monday - Saturday 11am-6pm and Sundays 11am-5pm). To help us stay open 7 days a week we've hired Lauren’s (La Ru’s) brother Evan. He works the shop Sunday - Tuesday. We asked him a couple questions so you could get to know him:

What kind of art projects do you work on? Very random ones, whatever pops into my head. Usually monsters.
