Descriptions

We hosted the 2014 Etsy Craft Party - Seattle edition. The theme was: Recapture, Bring new meaning to your photographsEtsy Craft Party is a one-day celebration of meeting and making. This year’s theme focuses on transforming photographs into display-worthy works of art using a variety of craft supplies and creative techniques. Guests participated in a community embroidery project. We ironed historic images of Washington to a large sheet of fabric and then people embroidered embellishments onto the imags. Etsy suggested a craft project where antique photographs are embellished with embroidery and we had a large number of photos donated by Etsy seller: Ephemera Obscura.

Additionally, an image transfer project was available for guests to select images to transfer with Scotch packing tape and embellish a glass object with. They also used washi tape (donated by 3M) to complete their pieces.

A giant THANK YOU to all of our sponsors: 3M, Chinook Book, Ephemera Obscura, Epson, EtsySaver, Monster Art & Clothing, Photo JoJo, Portage Bay Goods, Seattle Handmade, Shift Massage, Slow Loris, Urban Craft Uprising, Unanimous Craft, Vandicrafts, Whimsy & Pop.
