We moved. TEMPORARILY.
There is some construction happening on our building and our little shop is boxed in by scaffolding every which way. The Market was kind enough to let us move into a vacant space on First Avenue for a bit while the construction dust settles. Here's our little baby all cleared out and empty.
Poor little shop. We'll see you soon.
We packed everything up after work and the movers arrived at 8 a.m. the next day to schlep everything up to the new spot. 1525 First Avenue to be exact. Between Pike and Pine Streets. The space is over 1200 square feet -- JUST A TINY BIT BIGGER THAN OUR ITTY BITTY LITTLE SHOP ON WESTERN (and yes, I meant to yell -- it's THAT much bigger).
So we set about putting everything away TEMPORARILY.
It's so big that we had to ask for a little help from our friends, Narboo, Starheadboy, Joseph Brooks and Foamy Wader.
Thanks to the help of some amazing friends, we got the shop moved and set up in the new space IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS. We even have a kick-butt window display.
Thank goodness. Also, if you would like to pack up and move your shop -- and set it up in 24 hours....
Don't ask me. I'm never doing that again. Ever.
Well, at least not until we have to move back down to our regular spot on Western.
When we were all done, Evan and I christened the shop by throwing confetti into the window display. It was a good, quick celebration -- which was exactly what we needed -- seeing as how we had to open the shop in about 8 hours. ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
